摘要：英语教师素质的高低,是决定一个学校教学质量及整体竞争力的决定性因素,对于社会办学,力量相对薄弱的独立学院来说更是如此。阐述目前独立学院中英语教师的素质构成状况,教师对自身素质的评价,学生对教师素质的反映情况,综合分析,从国家、社会、学校、教师及学生几方面改进,提出全面提高英语教师素质的对策方案。
The quality of English teachers plays a decisive part in teaching quality and whole competitiveness, espe- cially in the non-public schools which are run by non-governmental sectors. This thesis mainly discusses the quality construction of English teachers in independent college, teachers＇ self-rating, and teaehers＇ ratings from students＇ perspectives. It also provide some practical suggestions from different aspects：the country, the society, the college, the teachers and the students.
