摘要：阅读能力是英语学习者必备的能力之一,也是英语教学的重点.在我国存在的三种阅读教学模式中,语篇教学是培养学生阅读能力的最有效的途径.学生在正确的理论指导下,可以通过有目的的训练来提高阅读能力.
Reading ability is one of the important abilities for English learners, and also is the main purpose for the teaching of English. The paper illuminates three teaching models for extensive reading in China, and puts forward that discourse teaching is the most efficient way to cultivate students' reading ability. Guided by the exact theories, students can improve their reading ability through purposeful practice.
