Virginia Woolf employs“one day”as the narrative framework in Mrs. Dalloway to reflect the modern peoples’alienation and the feeling of doomsday. Woolf achieves the balance and harmony of the internal structure by means of her unique modernist techniques, which fully embodies the boundless extension and forceful cohesion of stream-of-consciousness novels.
