摘要:A new algorithm of vehicle license plate automatic recognition for exit and entrance was proposed in this research. Firstly, using the gray information of vehicle license plate to locate plate roughly, and secondly using the color characteristics of the plate for accurate positioning in the rough location region, and then correcting the horizontal tilt of the plate by the method of Hough transform. After above processing, we adopt template matching method to recognize the plate characters. Experimental results indicated that the developed method can adapt to a variety of complex backgrounds and achieve the correct recognition of the vehicle license plate.
