摘要：狄更斯名作《远大前程》着重反映了社会环境和人的意识行为互为关联的问题,小说主人公从一个纯朴乡村少年到成为沾染恶习的上流社会的绅士,再到最终幻想破灭的过程,体现了幻想的破灭和人生真正意义的领悟。
Charles Dickens＇ masterpiece The Great Expectations mainly reflects the correlation of the social environment and human＇s consciousness. The male protagonist,Pip,degenerates into a ＂ gentleman＂ tainted with bad habits from a simple young man,and his dream disillusions at last. Such a progress reveals his spiritual disillusionment and the realization of true significance of life.
