摘要：在《汤姆·索耶历险记》中,马克·吐温塑造了一个非常可爱的儿童形象——汤姆·索耶。汤姆是一个聪明、勇敢的孩子,也是一个梦想家,他是马克·吐温时代成千上万的美国人的代表。
Mark Twain whose full name was Sanmel Langhorne Clemens was the greatest realistic humorist of the American literature at the end of the 19th century. The first feature of Twain＇s work was humor which Stephen Leacook spoke highly＂the name of Mark Twain stands for American humor more than that of many other writers,more than all names together.His name conveyed the idea of American humor.＂ In The Adventure of Tom Sawyer,Twain created a lovely American child——Tom Sawyer.Tom was clever,brave and also a dreamer.He was the symbol of thousands of American people at Twain＇s time.American people loved Tom from generation to generation,because Tom Sawyer was similar to American characters.In this paper,it would focus on Tom Sawyer＇ s characters and the reasons that it could be so loved by people all over the world.
