摘要：In this article, we describe the synthesis of a novel one-dimensional (1D) polymer {[(Ag2I4)(EV)]} 1 by the reaction of metal iodides with ethyl viologen dibromide ( EV), and the results are characterized by x-ray crystallography and infrared (IR) spectroscopy. The compound 1 crystallizes in a tetragonal space group P4(2)/mnm with a = 12.5133(8) angstrom, b = 12.5133(8) angstrom, c = 7.1014(9) angstrom, alpha = 90 degrees, beta = 90 degrees, gamma = 90 degrees. In the anion, each monovalent Ag atom is tetrahedrally coordinated by four mu(2)-I atom ligands to constitute an infinite 1D (Ag2I42-) anion chain with the organic dication EV ([C14H18N2](2+)) trapped in it.
